Aja Brown made history as the youngest person to ever be elected as Mayor of Compton, California. Now Brown has been re-elected to serve the citizens of Compton. She defeated her opposition by obtaining 62 percent of the votes.
Her message to her supporters was straightforward and concise:
“Onward. It’s time to finish the work,” she told her supporters after taking her oath. “If it isn’t about progress, it’s petty. Put it aside.”
Brown finished her first term strong and has a goal to complete her 12-step plan and fulfill promises she made to supporters. Although she did not complete her 12-step plan she let her supporters know, “Progress is a process and I’m humbled and honored that Compton voters chose to keep up the momentum and finish the work that we’ve started together!”
She is committed to her goals for the city and is working hard for a better Compton. Congrats Mayor Brown!
